Zack George is one of the UK’s most decorated and well-known professional CrossFit athletes, having won the UK’s CrossFit Open Championship in 2020. As a result, Zack was officially crowned the ‘UK’s Fittest Man’ – and was ranked #26 out of a whopping #126,461 on the global CrossFit leader board. He is particularly proud of his innate physical strength, which he describes as having since a young age.
Born and raised in Evington, on the outskirts of Leicester, at the age of 13, Zack describes himself as being ‘massively overweight’ – eating fast food and sweets up to six times a week. At around 14 years old he decided to change his lifestyle and get into fitness, and he wants to be an inspiration to others that they can do it too.
In 2017, Zack opened his very own CrossFit gym in Leicester, called ‘CrossFit BFG’ – in honour of his nickname. In 2020 Zack was on the front cover of ‘Men’s Health’, with the magazine running an extensive feature on him, called ‘Zack George: The Fittest Man in Britain’. In April 2021, Zack released his first book: ‘Start Where Others Stop: 9 Strategies for Optimising Your Mind’.
In 2023, Zack was revealed as ‘Steel’ in the new BBC One series of Gladiators.
Zack’s media appearances include Horrible Science, Blue Peter, The Hit List, and the CBBC Pantomime. He remains a competitive Hyrox athlete and is a regular figure at live events like Truckfest.
