In 2024, Lystus Ebosele made a whirlwind debut on the second series of BBC1s Gladiators as the electrifying Cyclone.
Lystus has always had a passion for sports, excelling in athletics from a young age with a focus on sprinting, shot put, and discus. Her impressive achievements include winning national championships in throwing and representing her country at the Celtic Games for shot put and discus.
Awarded a scholarship, Lystus was introduced to powerlifting during her university years and quickly began competing in this dynamic sport. To enhance her functionality and strength, she also developed skills in calisthenics, a form of bodyweight training that builds strength and endurance.
Transitioning to full-time competition in powerlifting, Lystus achieved remarkable success in 2023, winning the Junior World Championships for athletes under 23. She also set a new junior world record total in her weight class, which had stood for eight years, with an impressive total of 617.5 kg. Her record-breaking lifts included a squat of 245 kg, a bench press of 145 kg, and a deadlift of 227.5 kg.
