In 2023, Emily Steel was unveiled as ‘Dynamite’ in BBC One’s highly anticipated Gladiators revival, set to air in early 2024. Known for her explosive strength and versatility, Emily is a full-time elite CrossFit athlete and a competitive British weightlifter.
Emily has competed on the international stage, including the prestigious Wodapalooza fitness festival in Miami in 2023. She also holds impressive titles, having claimed 1st place at the renowned Arnold Fitness Games in 2022 and 1st at the European Championships in 2020. In addition to her CrossFit achievements, she frequently competes in Hyrox competitions, showcasing her wide-ranging athletic skills. With a background in competitive swimming at the national level, Emily is a master of multiple disciplines, demonstrating her exceptional athletic ability across various sports.
Beyond the competition arena, Emily has appeared on popular television programs such as Go Get Arty, Comic Relief, Children in Need, CBBC Microbit, Morning Live, Blue Peter, This Morning, Hit List, CBBC Mash-Up, and Steph’s Packed Lunch. She has also made notable appearances at events like Truck Fest, Rugby Federation gatherings, and Fitness Superstore and Adidas events.
Emily completed a successful run as Wendy in the Hastings Pantomime, where her solo performance earned widespread acclaim. She has also started to release her own original music which can be streamed on all major platforms.
