ABOUT US

Hungry Bear Media was formed in 2014 by Dan Baldwin and Juliet Denison Gay and is one of the fastest growing independent television production companies in the UK.

We’ve produced a multitude of quality entertainment content, including Michael McIntyre’s Big ShowBradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad, Gladiators, Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel, Me and the Voice in My Head, Joe & Katherine’s Bargain Holidays, Judge Romesh, Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, The National Comedy Awards for Stand Up To Cancer, and many more. We have secured commissions with every major UK broadcaster, and we continue to build on our track record of working with the best on-screen talent in the business, including Michael McIntyre, Bradley Walsh, Holly Willoughby, Katherine Ryan, Romesh Ranganathan, Jay Blades, and Ant & Dec, to name a few.

In 2015, we launched Hungry McBear. The production company, co-owned with Michael McIntyre, produces Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel, two of the BBC’s biggest prime time Saturday night entertainment shows.

Hungry Jay Media was formed in 2020 as a collaboration with Jay Blades. The company quickly produced a string of hits including the moving BBC1 documentary Jay Blades: Learning To Read at 51 and Channel 5’s social history format No Place Like Home, while launching a brand new initiative to create opportunities for new production talent from under represented backgrounds.

In 2024, we ventured further into documentary filmmaking with Joe Tracini’s powerful Me and the Voice in My Head for Channel 4  – an intimate exploration of mental health that went on to win two prestigious Grierson Awards for Best Single Documentary and Best Documentary Presenter.

Our commitment to excellence continues to be recognised across the industry, with wins for Gladiators at the 2024 Rose d’Or and RTS Craft Awards. Meanwhile, Hungry Bear Media has been nominated for Best Independent Production Company at the Broadcast Awards 2025, alongside nominations for both Gladiators and Me and the Voice in My Head.

At Hungry Bear Media we pride ourselves on creating outstanding production teams and we are consistently crowned ‘one of the best places to work’ in the television industry.
